May 2007 - Seaspray Restaurant, Torquay.

Back in June 2005 I went to the Dartmouth Art Weekend to have a look at the work of local artists,  sculptors, photographers and other craft workers displaying their talents.

This event is organised by Dartmouth & District Friends Group, one of around 40 groups in the South West working voluntarily to support the Children's Hospice South West by fundraising for the hospice and raising awareness of its work.

Whilst there I got talking to a number of artists about their work. I got talking to an artist called Emma Carter about her work and art in general. I told Emma that I was a keen photographer but had never taken it any further other than for my own enjoyment but have been seriously thinking about it. Emma gave me some literature about The Riviera Art House which she leads and she explained a little about it.

The Riviera Art House supports and markets individual artists and assists with art placement schemes for restaurants, offices, and hotels.

For well over a year I filed this information away and never did anything about it. Sometime later I made the call to Emma that I should have made a lot earlier. Emma remembered me and liked my work and said she would take me on as one of the artists at The Riviera Art House. Soon after that Emma said she would like to display my work at the Seaspray Restaurant in Torquay.

Seaspray Restaurant, Torquay

In May 2007 one of my panoramic and three of my large images were displayed on the walls of the Seaspray Restaurant in Torquay. It was very exhilarating seeing my work on display for the first time and was the beginning of my pursuit to get my work displayed elsewhere and hopefully on the way sell some of my work. Time will tell.
